Kinesiology / Muscle Testing

Often in my practice, you may see me use muscle testing - better known as kinesiology.  It is a test that measures the response and energy potential of the muscle, not its strength.  The patient raises his/her arm (or leg) to resist the pressure of the therapist's hand.  If the arm resists the pressure, it is a positive response for anything being tested or asked, if they yield this is a negative response or imbalance.   I sometimes use this modality to check certain supplement protocols.

Kinesiology can also be used to test almost every area of the body for impaired or weakened function.

Based on the concept of internal energy, muscle testing is a noninvasive way of evaluating the body’s imbalances and assessing its needs.

It involves testing the body’s responses when applying slight pressure to a large muscle, to provide information on energy blockages, the functioning of the organs, nutritional deficiencies, and food sensitivities, among other things. It can also be used to test the body’s responses to supplements, herbs, and other remedies.
